Why “#sharejesus”?

Share Jesus Brand originally started as an idea to represent your love for God and His Son, Jesus Christ, by wearing a silicon bracelet embossed with the text “Share Jesus”.

While serving as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Matthew/Matty G spent a significant amount of time with social media-specific responsibilities. So, in the effort to reach more people using social media, the “#sharejesus” was top of mind.

“#sharejesus” became particularly important, and even more symbolic since social media carries the reputation of the marketplace for darkness and negativity… so, is there really a better place to emphasize the need of bringing light in?

Social media was created in the spirit of neutrality, neither for good nor bad. But, far too many users across the world have abused various social media platforms to spread and promote hatred, lies, judgement, and even violence. Through study of the scriptures, it’s clear that, in the Lord’s Kingdom, there is no place for these things.

The only weapon that we have in this world that stands a chance against the darkness (and we know it wins in the end) is the Light of Jesus Christ.

“#sharejesus” isn’t just a brand, a bracelet, or a call to action. It’s a representation of Jesus’ invitation to His followers to, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 KJV)

So, embrace it. Share the name of Jesus & don’t be shy. Let your light shine.
